Tradeify Microscalping Rule: The 10-Second Payout Test

Understand Tradeify’s funded-account microscalping rule, its evaluation exemption, and how to check trade duration and profit before a payout.

The short answer: not all scalping is prohibited

For a fast strategy, the useful question is not simply whether Tradeify allows scalping. It is whether your trade-duration distribution and profit sources meet the payout test. The official news-trading policy says over 50% of trades must be held longer than 10 seconds AND over 50% of profit must come from trades held longer than 10 seconds. Both conditions apply to funded accounts; the policy exempts evaluations. This guide covers Tradeify Futures, not Tradeify FX.

When does the restriction apply?

Tradeify describes microscalping as a funded-account restriction. Passing an evaluation with an extremely fast approach does not establish that the same approach will qualify for funded payouts. Keep evaluation records separate from funded records and read the agreement applying to your account before your first request.

Test one: the percentage of trades

Count trades held longer than 10 seconds and divide by the total trade count for the relevant period. With 100 trades, 60 qualifying trades produce 60%, meeting the count condition. Exactly 50 qualifying trades produce exactly 50%, while the policy requires over 50%. Likewise, do not assume a trade held for exactly 10 seconds qualifies as longer than 10 seconds.

Test two: where the profit came from

You can pass the count test and fail the profit test. Consider an educational example with no losing trades: 60 longer trades and 40 shorter trades. If the longer trades earn $400 and shorter trades earn $600, the longer group contributes only 40% of profit despite representing 60% of trades. If the longer group earns $700 and the shorter group $300, its profit contribution is 70%, passing both tests. These are illustrative numbers, not results from an actual account.

Losses and partial exits: do not invent the accounting

The source states the count and profit percentages but does not explain every detail of losing trades, partial exits, or split executions in that passage. Summing only winning trades may therefore be insufficient. Export your platform report and ask support in writing which period applies, how partial and losing trades are treated, and whether the platform or company dashboard is authoritative. We do not substitute an unverified accounting formula for these cases.

A pre-payout audit

News, bots, and copied trades

Permission to trade news does not waive the funded microscalping test. A few very short news trades can generate most of the profit and fail the profit condition even when most trades last longer. A bot or copier also does not change actual holding times or remove account restrictions. Check the separate strategy-ownership and hedging policies; this article is not blanket permission to use any trading software.

Does this fit your strategy?

If most of your profit comes from entering and exiting within a few seconds, audit a representative practice record before buying a funded account. If normal trades last minutes or longer, the task is usually verification rather than redesigning your strategy. Do not hold a losing trade merely to reach a duration threshold or add artificial trades to improve a ratio. Sound risk control and compliance matter more than passing a numerical check.

Before you buy

Tradeify’s official policy permits news trading, but the funded-duration condition is separate: over half of trades and over half of profit must come from trades longer than 10 seconds. Confirm the official terms for your account date and read the linked payout guide. Passing this test does not remove consistency requirements, payout caps, or other conditions. This is educational information, not a payout guarantee.
