Question 1

How is forex margin calculated?

Accepted Answer

Margin = (Lot size × Contract size × Price) ÷ Leverage. A 1.0 lot EURUSD position at 1:100 leverage needs roughly $1,000 of margin.

Question 2

What leverage do prop firms give?

Accepted Answer

Forex firms typically offer 1:30 to 1:100, futures firms use fixed contract margins instead. Check the plan page for the exact leverage per instrument.

Question 3

What happens if I run out of margin?

Accepted Answer

The broker issues a margin call and can liquidate positions. On a funded account that usually also triggers a drawdown breach.

Question 4

Does higher leverage increase risk?

Accepted Answer

Leverage itself does not — position size does. Higher leverage just lets you open a bigger position with the same balance, so size by risk, not by margin.
