Question 1

How do I calculate position size for a prop firm account?

Accepted Answer

Position size = (Account risk in $) ÷ (Stop loss in pips × Pip value). Risk 0.5%–1% per trade to stay far from the daily drawdown limit.

Question 2

How much should I risk per trade on a funded account?

Accepted Answer

Most consistently paid traders risk 0.25%–1%. With a 4%–5% daily loss limit, 1% risk gives you room for several losing trades in a row.

Question 3

Does position size affect the consistency rule?

Accepted Answer

Yes — oversizing creates one huge winning day that breaks the best-day consistency threshold and blocks the payout.

Question 4

Should I size by account balance or by drawdown?

Accepted Answer

Size by remaining drawdown. It is the number that actually ends your account, especially with trailing drawdown models.
